1983 A Taste of Nanyang restaurant chain has six locations in Singapore, one of which is within The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (2 Bayfront Avenue).
As the restaurant’s name suggests, 1983 A Taste of Nanyang brings back the wonderful culinary experiences of a bygone era, the local fare and flavours of the 1980s.
You can choose from, for example, a selection that features Nanyang Coffee, Traditional Bun Sets, Nasi Lemak, Hainan Chicken Rice, Nasi Padang and highlights from Thai cuisine.
The restaurants’ signature menu item is the Nasi Lemak, where aromatic rice is infused with coconut milk and pandan leaves, then served with fried chicken, fish, and a spoonful of spicy sambal.
Other local favourites on the menu include such delights as Mee Rebus, Lontong, and Penang Assam Laksa.
