BAKE Cheese Tart Shops in Singapore (CLOSED)

Japanese BAKE Cheese Tart shop has two locations in Singapore, one within Westgate mall (3 Gateway Drive) and another at ION Orchard (2 Orchard Turn). (UPDATE 2020: THE SHOPS HAVE CLOSED)

BAKE Cheese Tart, founded in Sapporo (although the brand’s first store opened in Tokyo in 2014), Japan, specializes in Hokkaido-style cheese tarts.

What’s also unique about BAKE Cheese Tart is that their cheese tarts are formulated in Hokkaido, shipped half-cooled to Singapore, where they are then baked and served fresh at the stores.

Furthermore, because BAKE does not have walls in their stores, only windows, you can see how this preparation process is handled and the cheese tarts are baked.

The freshly baked tarts have a combined crunchy and fluffy texture and a wonderful cheese aroma that wafts out from them.

BAKE’s cheese mousse is actually a blend of three different types of cream cheese, a combination which brings out the wonderful flavor of all the ingredients.

The cheese mousse contains mild flavored cheese from Hakodate in Hokkaido, more full-bodied Betsukai cheese, as well as saltier French cheese.

BAKE’s tart pastry, meanwhile, is created from cookies and to make it even more crunchy and delicious, the company bakes them once just as cookies, then bakes them all over again with the cheese mousse on top to create a twice-baked, unique pastry that the customers love.
