There are three Bao Bao Issey Miyake store locations in Singapore to choose from for the Japanese fashion label, including one shop within Forum The Shopping Mall (583 Orchard Road).
The label, created by fashion house Issey Miyake in 2010, creates unique collections of bags and pouches that feature technology-driven, exciting and intriguing yet simple shapes, as well as diverse materials.
A signature theme throughout the collections is “Shapes Made by Change“, which translates into light and soft designs that fold, accommodate, and transform themselves with use, resulting in dramatic new geometric bags & shapes.
These individual fashion items, which are only completed when owned by someone, provide flexible functionality that is perfect for the busy, modern Singaporean lifestyle.
Some of the stores, such as the one at Forum The Shopping Hall, also carry items from the fashion house’s iconic PLEATS PLEASE apparel collection, launched in 1993.
PLEATS PLEASE collection is made from high quality, 100 per cent polyester fabric which is first cut, sewn together, and then hand-fed into a heat press sandwiched between two sheets of paper, resulting in permanent pleats – vertical, horizontal and zig-zags – that create architectural shapes when worn by customers.
