You can find FOST Gallery contemporary art gallery in Singapore from within Gillman Barracks (1 Lock Road), one of Asia’s up-and-coming art destinations.
Established by Stephanie Fong in 2006, the gallery showcases artists at the fore of contemporary art, yet at different stages in their careers, both those that have already established their names and those that show promise.
Artists represented by the gallery, many of which have been included in international biennales and institutional exhibitions, have built the company a reputation over the years as one of the leading names in the field.
Through curated exhibitions with an emphasis on stimulating contemporary art practices, the gallery’s focus is on initiating and sustaining discourse among artists and art enthusiasts.
The showcased art is made by artists from around the world (with preference on representing artists based in Singapore), including Adeel uz Zafar, Kray Chen, John Clang, Bovey Lee, Zul Mahmod, Phi Phi Oanh, Jimmy Ong, Donna Ong, Grace Tan, Wyn-Lyn Tan, Sebastian Mary Tay, and Ian Woo.
Premises to showcase the art within the Gillman Barracks were designed by an award-winning firm, Ministry of Design, and opened to public in 2012.
Since opening the space, the art gallery has also organised talks led by artists and curators in conjunction with every exhibition, and hosted regular visits by art student groups.
