Grand Shanghai Restaurant, a great Shanghainese restaurant in Singapore, is located within Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel (390 Havelock Road).
The restaurant has an exciting theme, where you get to indulge yourself in the lavishness of 1930s Shanghai, the city’s swanky golden period when it was known as “The Paris of the East“, and savour the delicious cuisines of that era.
Creating experience are a contemporary “East meets West” interior setting – iconic art-deco motifs, beautiful elegant chandeliers, and modern oriental designs – and a vibrant atmosphere of fanciful soirees, live bands, and authentic Shanghainese fare.
Adding a soft glow to the intimate space are the crystal chandeliers, while the intricately patterned carpets and woodworking add vibrant splashes of colour around the dining room, with family-style round tables and plush green velvet banquettes.
There are also 4 specially designed private rooms available to the side and back of the main dining area, catering for small intimate gatherings.

In terms of food, the menu is a celebration of the classic Shanghainese recipes and the freshest and finest ingredients, seasonal produce, plus layered, complex flavours.
Signature dishes on the Chinese restaurant menu are, for example, Deep-Fried Yellow Croaker Fish with Roselle Sauce, Braised Fish Maw with Abalone Sauce (served on Hot Stone), Crispy Stuffed Whole Hokkaido Sea Cucumber in Oyster Sauce, as well as Grand Shanghai Crispy Smoked Duck in Hoi Sin Sauce.
