You can find [email protected] public library Singapore within VivoCity shopping centre, at 1 HarbourFront Walk.
The public library, which has been open since January 2019, has a great setting against a splendid view of Sentosa.
With a collection of more than 200,000 volumes, [email protected] is a reading & learning destination for all Singaporeans.
The place has been designed to include two distinct zones – one for adults and teens, and another for children.
These two spaces provide suitable spaces and enhanced services that fit each group’s specific reading and learning needs.
The Tinker Truck at [email protected]
Of the zones, The Children’s Zone has young readers learning through up-to-date technology, including with the first-ever makerspace (“The Tinker Truck“) for children aged three to nine.
The makerspace aims to develop creativity and children’s problem-solving skills through DIY learning materials, crafts and puzzles.
Also, at The Children’s Zone, you’ll find Augmented Reality books that bring stories to life.
The Adults’ and Teens’ Zone, meanwhile, is volunteer-run, and offers flexible spaces to host programmes that support skills for digital readiness and lifelong learning.
Reading spaces for patrons of all ages include the Newspaper Reading Area and Reading Lounge.
Within the Newspaper Reading Area, you can read newspapers while enjoying the fantastic views of Sentosa. There are also sixteen eNewspaper reading stations.
You can browse books from book displays and then sit down with one at the Reading Lounge, which houses about 120 seats.
Children and families can enjoy reading together at the Children’s Area, which has Early Literacy collections for young readers aged 6 and below, as well as books for older children aged 7 to 12.
Finally, the library has a Programme Zone, where you can participate in a wide range of activities. These activities include storytelling, talks and much more.
When not in use for these types of programmes, the convertible space doubles up as a reading and studying area capable of holding 100 seats.
Within the shopping mall, you’ll find the library on level 3 of VivoCity, with some of the best views to Sentosa in Singapore.
