Makko Teck Neo Peranakan restaurant in Singapore is located within Bukit Merah district, at 35 Telok Blangah Rise.
With a history going back to 1999, the family-run restaurant, apart from their delicious, authentic Nyonya food prepared from heritage recipes, is best known for pineapple tarts, which were served to the guests of 2009 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference on the “Singapore Sampler” menu.
The outlet, named after Madam Peck Teck Teo, who manages the kitchen (while “makko” is Peranakan for “aunty”), serves many signature Peranakan highlights beyond pineapple tarts and kueh kuehs.
Visiting the Nyonya restaurant, you can choose from the menu delights such as Nyonya “Dry” Mee Siam, Nasi Lemak, Babi Pongteh (Nonya braised pork in fermented soy bean sauce), Chap Chye (braised vegetable stew), as well as Ayam Buah Keluak (chicken, tamarind gravy and buah keluak nuts).
