Korean restaurant Masizzim has two locations in Singapore, a main restaurant at [email protected] shopping center (313 Orchard Road) and a spin-off restaurant Hanok By Masizzim at Westgate (3 Gateway Drive).
Masizzim (마시찜), a stylized combination of Korean words ‘masi’ (delicious) and ‘jjim’ (steam), specializes in Galbi Jjim (갈비찜) stewed meat dishes.
At the chain’s casual restaurants, you can enjoy a variety of pork and beef stews, anchovy or tuna rice balls, kimchi fried rice, fried pancakes, beef rib soup, and much more.
The most popular items on the menu, the Masizzim signature dishes, however, are Beef Rib Stew, Pork Rib Stew, and Spicy Chicken Stew. Many love the restaurant’s Tomato Cheese Kimchi Pancake (kimchi and minced beef, topped with tomato paste, mozzarella, and chopped basil) as well.
Masizzim locations serve stews of various meats in black, coarsely-textured bowls, enhancing the experience of enjoying authentic cuisine from The Land of the Morning Calm.
You can combine all the available spicy stews with Sikhye Jar, a Korean home-style chilled beverage (of malt barley and rice), brewed in-house at the restaurant daily.
Of the restaurant’s Hanok is an associated brand operated by Masizzim, and serves the same well-loved stews and traditional Korean side dishes – but with no pork or lard. Highlights on the menu include such delights as Shabu-Shabu, mixed-grain Rice Balls, Egg Rolls, and crispy Pancakes.
Both of the restaurants are managed by the same company that operates the popular Korean fried chicken chain, Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory in Singapore.
