Japanese curry bun shop in Singapore, Panko Pocket, is located within Plaza Singapura shopping mall (68 Orchard Road). (UPDATE 2022: THE SHOP HAS CLOSED)
The company was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 2002, offers incredibly delicious hot, fresh, and crispy buns filled with Japanese home-made curry filling.
Visiting the outlet, you can choose your curry bun from several signature flavours, like Umami Brown Beef Curry, Yellow Chicken Curry, Cheese Tomato Curry, Stewed Hamburg, Shrimp Gratin, Chilli Crab & Shrimp, and Red Veggie Curry.
All of the buns are made with all-natural ingredients, with no additives included and prepared in collaboration with Sweetlands Confectionery and Bakery, a famous heritage bakery in Balestier.
The recipe utilized in the preparation uses premium Japanese “panko” (white breadcrumbs) that have been freshly ground daily in the outlet with a special panko grinder imported from Japan, resulting in the signature crispy bun.
Just right before serving each order, the curry bun is sprinkled with special blended spice with a handmill for sealing & finalizing the authentic taste.
