Rockon Tokyo, an authentic Japanese restaurant in Singapore, operates within Outram district, at 106 Tanjong Pagar Road.
The restaurant, a collaboration between Chef Sekiya Katsuyuki and sake sommelier Koki Miyoshi, has a menu that is constructed out of traditional style of Japanese obanzai cuisine from Kyoto Prefecture.
Kyoto’s obanzai cuisine served at the outlet features a range of nourishing dishes prepared from family heirloom heritage recipes, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, vegetables, and seafood.
Visiting the outlet, you can choose your culinary experience from everything from grilled skewers to specialty seafood dons, with the menu featuring something new every two weeks, depending on what is available and in season.
Menu highlights include, for example, Signature Rock On! Tokyo Treasure Box, Karaage with Smoked Japanese Tartare, Koji-Marinated “Gyutan” Beef Tongue, Octopus & Okra with Japanese Plum Sauce, as well as Sake Lees Ice Cream with Charcoal Grilled Pineapple (dessert).
The Japanese restaurant menu also covers premium and rare sakes (including a personal favourite of the Emperor of Japan, Kokuryu) as well as wines and champagnes, each curated to match the food selections.
In terms of ambience, the 22 guest seat place has a comfortable, minimalist interiors with natural wood elements for a pleasurable dining experience.
