Samurice – Bento Meals in Singapore

Samurice Japanese takeaway restaurant, a great choice for bento meals in Singpore, operates within Guoco Tower (7 Wallich Street).

Founded in 2014, the company operates a Japanese-style Onigiri and Bento outlet that creates culinary delights from carefully selected ingredients – including Japanese rice, seaweed, Miso, and soy sauce – imported from Japan.

The name for the outlet comes from a combination of words “samurai” and “rice“. This is because samurai, a major symbol of the Japanese culture, used Onigiri and Bento as a portable food, and rice was an essential source of energy for them.

Onigiri used by the company is based on Bonta Bonta’s recipes and ways of preparation, using methods from the only shop in Singapore set up by Bongo, the popular onigiri shop in Otsuka, Tokyo.

Using rice that is cultivated with much time and effort by Japanese farmers, then cooked by best balance of water and best cooking methods, and finally made into delicious Onigiri and Bento by hand by the shop staff.

In addition to the ingredients inside, the Onigiri has topping so that you can enjoy the food’s full range of ingredients. The takeaway restaurant is also particular about the way of pressing, pressing fluffy, not firmly, so that you can feel the graininess of the premium rice.
