Teppei Daidokoro Japanese food kiosk restaurant has four locations in Singapore, one of which is located within VivoCity shopping centre (1 HarbourFront Walk). (UPDATE 2020: THE OUTLETS HAVE CLOSED)
The food kiosk restaurant chain, created by Teppei Yamashita, offers food that is inspired by traditional Fukuoka (Japan) yakitori-yas (small shops that specialize in yakitori dishes).
Teppei Daidoroko (where “Daidokoro” translates as “Kitchen” in Japanese), delivers authentic and high quality Japanese cuisine at budget-friendly prices.
The design of the location is that of a casual takeaway food kiosk, where you’ll get to taste intense charcoal flavour-infused yakitori sticks first hand.
The signature item of the chain is the tare (yakitori sauce), which Chef Teppei spent months and months formulating and perfecting, featuring smoky and earthly notes of charcoal and umami, perfect for all yakitori lovers.
Highlights of the Teppei Daidokoro yakitori menu include chicken meatballs, chicken with Japanese leek, pork belly, pork sausages, salmon belly and quail eggs, as well as the signature Kaisen Don (Sashimi Rice Bowl), grilled / deep-fried breaded bentos/dons, alongside an assortment of Hokkaido croquettes.
Other restaurant / food kiosk concepts by Teppei Yamashita are, for example, Teppei, Hanare, Teppei Syokudo, and Hana Hana.
