The Better Half, a popular coffeeshop & cake bakery in Singapore, is located within Tanjong Pagar area, at 1 Everton Park.
Established in March 2018, the company’s outlet offers a delicious range of meticulously baked artisan cakes & other bakes, as well as freshly prepared specialty coffees.
Name for the bakery & cafe comes from their philosophy of creating perfectly paired bakes and coffees that complement each other, thereby being each others’ “better half”.
For ordering cakes, the menu includes Whole Cakes – with orders at least 4 days in advance – in styles including Carrot Walnut, Chamomile Honey, Chocolate, Coconut Passionfruit, Earl Grey Lavender, Earl Grey Lemon, Gula Melaka Avocado, Lavender Honey, Lemon, Orange Almond Brown Butter, Rose Raspberry, Vanilla, and Vanilla Salted Caramel.
Other main categories (with orders a minimum of 3 days in advance) are Loaf Cakes (Banana Walnut, Lemon, Pear Crumble), Tea Cakes (Chamomile Honey, Lavender Honey, Pistachio Lemon, Sticky Date Pudding), plus Breads (Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Pistachio Babka).
There is also a ‘Build Your Own Cake’ option for cakes at the bakery with five steps.
First, you select the cake size & layers, then the sponge, followed by the choice of filling, then the glaze/frosting, and finally the toppings (herb, main, sprinkles). As an added step, on the order form, you can specify a special message on the cake.
Note that all orders for ‘Build Your Own Cake’ have to be placed at least 4 days in advance. You can also order a fully customised cake for your special event, where the orders need to be placed a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
