WondersWork, a popular provider of STEM classes for children in Singapore, operates within Great World mall, at 1 Kim Seng Promenade.
Founded in 2012, the company operates a unique learning centre that nurtures children & individuals to be aspiring and successful inventors and entrepreneurs.
The centre’s approach has been designed to to ignite the students’ creative minds and nurture their inventive thinking through hands-on workshops in a fun learning environment where you are free to explore, create and invent your own creative, wondrous works.
For the teaching, the centre has a team that comprises of qualified ex-teachers, trainers, and professionals with years of experience and a treasure trove of knowledge in their specialized area of expertise.
Overall objective is to meet the needs of developing life-ready competencies in face of an increasingly globalized, complex and media-saturated world.
To this end, the programs aim to add to the students skills in areas of Creative and Inventive Thinking, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, and Cross-Cultural Communication – in line with the Ministry of Education’s framework for 21st century competencies.
The desired outcome of the programs is a successful inventor and entrepreneur who pursues lifelong learning and contributes actively to the society.
In its teaching, WondersWork adopts a learning model used by Thomas Edison and thousands of other inventors.
The learning model utilizes progressive pedagogy, in which lessons are student-centered, competencies-driven, and outcome-based rather than teacher-centered, academic driven, and textbook-based.
Programs are always conducted using hands-on projects in small classes (up to 12 students), based on the student’s interests, experiences, talents and the real world. This way, each student is the center of learning, while the teacher is a facilitator.
Educational programme alternatives include weekly Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) classes and school holiday summer programs such as Lego Robotics programs for children from age 4.5 and above.
