Yonehachi has two Japanese Restaurants in Singapore to choose from, including one outlet at Takashimaya Department Store (391A Orchard Road).
Established in 1976 in Japan, and managed in Singapore by Japan Foods Holding, the outlets serve delicious Okowa – glutinous rice mixed with different ingredients (often mushrooms, beans, and sometimes seafood).
For the Okowa dishes, the restaurant, uses top quality rice that has been imported from northern Japan, such as Iwate and Akita, and made the traditional Japanese way.
In Japan, where the chain has about 140 locations, one of the most popular menu choices is Sekihan (Red Sticky Rice), where the red color comes from cooking with red azuki beans.
