You can discover Two Michelin Star Zén restaurant in Singapore from within Tanjong Pagar, at 41 Bukit Pasoh Road.
Housed in a beautiful three-storey heritage shophouse from 1926, the fine dining destination is a creation by Chef Björn Frantzén of the famous Three Michelin Star restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm (Sweden).
Listed as one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants (2021, William Reed Business Media), the Singapore restaurant, one of the most expensive culinary experiences available, serves New Nordic cuisine that has been inspired by Japanese kaiseki (traditional multi-course Japanese dinner).
Open to customers since November 2018, Zén occupies the entire three-storeys, with guests served five elegant snacks at a stone counter that fronts the open kitchen on the ground floor.
Dinner, meanwhile, is available on the second floor, featuring modern Scandinavian-style brushed wood furnishings, and with each table having its own trolley upon which chefs and servers finish each dish before it is served.
Finishing the eight course meal, you’ll continue the fine dining journey on the third floor ‘living room’ of armchairs and sofas, where desserts, digestifs, drinks, and petits fours are served.
Throughout, you can expect to start with Nordic snacks such as potato rolls crowned with Vendace roe, red onion rings, and dill, with the eight main courses headlined by the Frantzén Signature, ‘Grand Tradition French Toast’.
Note that to get a table at the popular fine dining restaurant, reservations open on the 1st of each month at 10am local time via their official website.
